MOTOROLA RADIO BATTERIES: PROVEN TOUGH

The Drop Test

Back to Drop

The Method:

Using the same test set-up as the U.S. military does for its equipment, each
battery is attached to a Motorola radio and dropped four feet onto concrete.
Each radio was dropped a total of 42 times (seven cycles of six drops)

A cycle consists of
  • 1 drop on the front
  • 1 drop on the back
  • 1 drop on the left side
  • 1 drop on the right side
  • 1 drop on the top
  • 1 drop on the bottom

The Inspection:

Each battery is inspected and failed if they experienced the following problems:

  • Cracking or splitting open
  • Damage to the connection with the radio
  • Inability to charge
